Macc Dundee could face A $5M lawsuit for copyright infringement
The song “My Life” has the lyrics “These Hoes Ain’t Loyal / Smoking Pills off foil, gettin hella skinny lookin like olive oyl.” where Loyal is “These hoes ain’t Loyal / They be playing games, yeah.” We talked to Macc Dundee’s label Dundeal Entertainment about the possibility of copyright infringement and the possibly of a lawsuit resulting in a $5 million payout to Chris Brown. “That’s ridiculous and just not a solid case.”
we compared the two side by side and found it was similar but copyright laws states, that you can legally use 29 seconds of a song or sample, without payment to the owner of the song.
What do you think? Is it copyright infringement or fair use?
